Tone (Irving)

To what I read from “In Cold Blood,” Capote seems to be an objective writer. This seems to be a good aspect to put the story instead of making the book bias. In my opinion, I like stories with multiple point of views so I can later decide what I think of the characters. This type of story telling gives the reader a feeling of of control and lets the reader think for himself/herself. An example can be found on any page since he doesn’t try to undermine any of the characters. The characters I would have expected to be undermine would be Dick and Perry. Since they were considered guilty of the crime. But since Dick and Perry did not confess to the murders until after the book was made. In my opinion, I think that the book would have been written differently if Dick and/or Perry would have confessed earlier. I seem to be explaining the tone mostly using the Characters Dick and Perry but I also see no sympathy towards the Clutters. I could just imagine this book being read in a monotone voice showing no sign of emotion.
