Government & Religion (Juan)

I think any kind of religion and the State should be very far away from each other just like Jesus said it “Give what is Caesar’s to Caesar and what is God’s to God”. If the religion gets involved in courts, I think that it would be like discriminating some one because if the judge is from one religion and the accused is from a different religion then the judge might punish the accused just because he is from a different religion. I don’t think the government could be able to interfere in any school’s because every kid in the classroom is from different religion and plus that’s why PRIVATE school were created. They can’t walk in the classroom and tell assigned me to read the Catholic bible because I might not be Catholic or the guy siting next to me might be Jehovah’s Witness. I haven’t heard about that happening or I haven’t read it here but something like that happen to me when I was in Mexico. The teacher walked in the classroom and for homework she assigned us to write a catholic prayer and when I got home I told my dad. Many other parents were mad too and organized a meeting with the principal. In the end she got fired. There are many type of different Catholics like a Catholic from Mexico and a Catholic from Italy don't have the same believes just because their Catholic it doesn't mean that they have been taught the same. It wouldn't be a good idea to ask a class full students all Catholics and assigned them homework over Roman Catholics because not all of them are going to be Roman Catholics they are Catholics but not the same type of Catholics.

  3. I agree with this...why would a public school teacher give out a lesson like that? i'm pretty sure not everyone in that class is the same religion
