Religious Thoughts (Meiko)

Well, I think that we should make it a law for the people in this world to keep Church & State separate. It’s also a free country so I feel like people should be able to voice their opinion & should be able to express & show their religion. It’s a time & place for everything though so I don’t feel like you should be able to do it inside of a public school because its people with different beliefs & it can cause a lot of commotion & conflict within people.  It can sometime be harmful when referencing religious beliefs within government institutions , I just think that it depends on what type of people you are surrounded by. A lot of people can be sensitive with the situation because they probably feel like they are being disrespected & not taken or accepted for who they are. Nobody wants to feel like they’re NOT wanted. Reputation is a HUGE deal in our society because I feel like that’s the only thing you have in life. You only have your word & your reputation. A lot of people that are religious & gives their GOD all of their time is (a lot of times) talked about or called a JESUS FREAK because it’s NOT a lot of people in this world that gives thanks to GOD for all that he’s done. (Especially young people) People care what others think, mainly because they don’t want to be left out or talked about.

  4. I agree with you too. I think that church and state should be separated. It does bring a lot of commotion and I agree that many people don't give thanks and have the same belief's. Especially in public school's where there is a verity of students with many different customs and belief's. I think that our way of learning is fine the way it is.

  5. I don't agree with you because if people say what they want to say then problems could occur, it is a free speech country but sometimes your not suppose to say things that will hurt others religion.

  7. I understand what your saying too Monica S. but you just contradicted yourself because if its a FREE COUNTY, that means that we are allowed to say whatever we want. It may hurt others sometimes but just make sure that you stand up for what you believe in. I'm NOT saying hurt others, I'm just saying that stating how you feel is just simply right. It doesn't mean that your wrong for telling someone that you love you religion or what you believe in. Don't talk down on that person's religion, just let them know your beliefs.
