Francois Villon (Vanessa)

Francois Villon was a French poet.  He was a criminal and was sentence to death penalty. He wrote “Ballade Des Pendus, (The Ballad of the Hanged) was written by Villon in prison soon before he was to be hanged. The translation for this poem was…
Brothers that live when we are dead,
Don’t set yourself against us too.
If you could pity us instead,
Then God may sooner pity you.
I don’t know why Truman Capote chose this poem for the beginning of his book. I think it was to do with the fact that this two guys Dick and Perry killed the family and they went to prison maybe capote found something in common with the killers and Villon. Also I think maybe he wanted us to feel sorry for them. I think these lines relate to this book because they both have to do with death and also the author of this poem was a criminal so I think both of this relate. I think capote chose this poet for his book because the author was a criminal just like the guys in the book.
