Francois Villon (Oscar)

Francois Villon was born in 1431, in a poverty area.Francois Villon was a french poet, thief, killer, and vagabond. He is best known for his Testaments and his Ballade des Pendus, written while in prison. Before being hanged. The quote by Francois Villon in the book “In Cold Blood’’ is translated to ‘’ brothers that live when we are dead, don’t set yourself against us too. If you could pity us instead, then god may sooner pity you. I think Capote use these specific lines in beginning so you can have more thoughts and feelings and have a better understand what happens to the murders of the clutter family. And also this quote shows how Capote feels toward the murderes. I think he did this so the reader can question him self threw the book saying ‘’ why would he put this quote in the beginning of the book’’? and at end you would realized why capote did that and probably learned something from it. I think this quote relates to the book because francois villon who wrote this quote was hanged due to killing a priest. And so it relates to how smith and perry was also hanged due to killing also innocent people. They both relate in a way.
