Now
Forty years after In Cold Blood’s was published does the story sound outdated? In
many parts of the story it may seem to be so because of the way everything was
worded. Many of the words used in the story were used back then. If you look
into the story and compare some of those words to the way people speak now are
way different some not so much. For example the way the described Kansas sounds
a little like how it would be back then. The way Kansas is now is a lot more
different then the way it was described in the book. The way people seemed to dress back then is
also very different. Most people In Kansas now a days don’t wear clothing
people in the story wore. There are a couple ways in which the story does not
seem so outdated. The way they say Kansas is nothing but land and not much to
it is true for some parts of Kansas. Like the parts of Kansas in which are in
the middle of no where that very few people live in. A crime like this would not have gotten away
so easily now like it did then. It would not have taken so long for people to
find out about it and make it so long of a case. People have changed and there
are many more people around everywhere, so I would be a hard crime to get away
with, unlike it was back then. For that most people would be able to tell this
was a case that is from a long time ago.
