Setting (Ashley)

Holcomb it stands on high wheat lands, many few Americans know about Holcomb, people who live in Holcomb are just same ordinary people like everyone else, its like more country then city, it dry like mostly all Kansas. The ways the town is ordinary would be the town is small everyone knows each other they all feel safe with each other. Its different because it is a pretty small town in which everyone trusts and knows each other pretty well they don’t lock their doors they feel very safe until the day of the tragedy. The author spends so much time describing the town because most people have never heard of a town called Holcomb. It helps you understand how Holcomb is in the normal regular days before the tragedy happened. It helps you imagine how the town looks like. Helps you understand more the book because you now have an idea of how Holcomb was like. The way he describes the cell is the same well similar way he describes the town Holcomb. The jail cell was mostly for females. Perry was the first male in that cell. He got treated good by Ms. Miers.
