At the beginning of the novel the author puts suspense he talks about dick and Perry’s as murders then goes back to talk about the Clutter’s life it goes back and forth through out the beginning. Capote uses describing words in detail to make us understand how each character acts and feels. At the beginning of the book he adds suspense because dick and Perry are talking about killing the clutters family. The effect that montage has on the book is that the author makes the reader get confused because he goes back and forth to one person to another and instead of telling you some important things that you should’ve known at the beginning he waits and tells you when the story is more to the end. In Capote does not depict the murder scene until after it is over when Dick and Perry are explaining it to the kbi agents. While the reader had a good idea of what happened they do not learn everything until this point. Again Perry and Dick’s backgrounds are given in bits and pieces throughout the story but it is not until they are being investigated until we learn more in detail. Capote could have given away the entire plot at once in a clearer order. I believe that Capote wrote the book in the way he did in order to keep the reader entertained.
