theme of "in cold blood"

There are many themes in the novel “In Cold Blood”, some of the themes are murder, thievery, and many more. I believe that even though there are many themes I think that in the whole novel there could be only a couple, and those two are “murder and freedom”. I think that those are the themes because in the whole story the word murder is very controversial because they interrogate many people about why Perry and Dick murdered the Clutters. They ask many questions to many people about the word murder and that word also comes out in the book. I also think that the theme can be freedom, but I’m not talking about being free and being able to live in peace and doing anything you want. I’m talking about the road that Perry and Dick take to be able to be free and to finally be free. I think that Perry and Dick tried so hard just to be able to finally be free from the burden that they are trying so hard to run away from. They both are terrified from the murder that they made but they are still trying so hard to forget and to be free from their past.
