François Villon (Angelica)

François Villon was a French poet, as we all know it, surprisingly he was also a thief, killer, barroom brawler, and a vagabond. Though he is still perhaps best known for his Testaments and his Ballade des Pendus, written while in prison. One of his poems was the one used in, “IN COLD BLOOD” it says “Brothers that live when we are dead, don't set yourself against us too. If you could pity us instead,

Then God may sooner pity you”. (François Villon) I think this relates to the book in every way because François was also a thief and killer. He could compare himself toward any other criminal. But are they any different from us? I think that’s what he is trying to say. Should we not set them up for less but understand them better. It is said in the bible to not put you higher than anyone else despite all his or her wrongs. In his poem he tries to tell us this. It doesn’t make a difference if they get killed for killing, doesn’t that make those who kill them in prison criminals also? 

Die with Honor (Angelica)

I rather die with honor. You ask why? I would rather die and have a good reputation under my name than live and have everyone breathing over my neck. I rather die with honor then have to support having people stare me down when I walk the out on the streets. Why would anyone want to live that way? Either you will end up doing suicide or live with depression your whole life if you cannot find that peace in your heart with god. In my opinion I would rather die with honor and keep my name alive to those who will come after me. For them to see the pride and respect we had in our time. How big the deal was with honor in your name and life that you once had. It’s not easy to keep your head up high with no one to look up to you anymore. So yes, I rather die with honor and live an eternity life with my father. What will be of someone who dies with honor? His/her name gets remembered and looked up to. People try to follow his/her steps to loyalty and success.  People will ready history about them and their story’s whether you died for the most littlest thing SOMEONE is bound to remember who you where and why you did it. For example my aunt had severe heart problems and still managed to have kids, years later her heart beat gave in and she passed away. Though she passed away with honor that she left something for our family to remember and kids for her husband.  

Hysteria (Angelica)

Hysteria is still used in modern day today. We ask each other why there is so much judgment to people we hardly know? Why is that? You look at a girl and think “Oh, she looks like a nice girl” And right when you are thinking that SOMEONE disturbs your thoughts and tells you a rumor about her wanting to be with every guy, and that’s where hysteria takes place in. People start mentioning the same thing about the same girl and you start to believe their comments. You start to say the same thing about her too and get anything that she does to make it look as if what you are saying is correct. For example if she waves at a guy you automatically think she is hitting on that guy to like everyone says and you start to think to yourself “Oh, now I understand why he or she are saying that! Yes she is around everywhere”! But did you ever take the time to think that maybe just MAYBE she is just being friendly? Maybe that guy or all those guys are just her cousins? Why automatically “think” she wants to be with all of them?

Reputation (Angelica)

            Reputation is very important in today in our society. You ask why? Everyday people judge you over things you do or say and keep the word spread. Yes sometimes people say wrong things that are not true at all. If you know that what they are saying is true, you need to find a way to clear your reputation. For example, if you were to go have an interview at an important job and they saw your Facebook and checked your background and got all but negative things on you, it’s a 99% chance that you won't get that job. So while that happens that word spreads within the business community and your name is out there in a negative way. Reputation means everything when you are trying to find a job. You want the employers to have a good opinion on you and have other recommend you for your good qualities. So yes, in my opinion reputation does matter and you never know when what you do can affect your future. So keep your eyes wide open and think about everything you do twice. Further on in life you will be proud of what your reputation has come out to be.
