I believe that it is way better to die with integrity than to compromise your faith, honor,
and decency in order to live because if you don’t stand up for what you believe
in then you will never have a purpose in life. If no one stands up for what he
or she believe in then nothing will ever change. The Crucible Character John
Procter didn’t want to lie to save his life because the document with his name
signed on it would be posted on the church door where everyone in the town could
see it and that would take his self-respect and his respect from the people
around him and he would rather die than his name be tainted and be known as a
liar. I would do the same thing because I don’t want to be known as a coward to
everyone and coward to myself for the rest of my life just to breathe. If you
choose to die everyone will remember you, as the person who always Kept true to
his or her personal values and never compromised what they believe in and I
will die as a brave, faithful and Honest person. I’m not saying I would die only
because I want a good reputation judged by someone else but I would die because
I would know that my life wasn’t lived in vein. I know that it is a tough decision
to make when your life is on the line and I would have to think strongly about
it before I make it but this is what I believe I would do if I were in this
situation.

Integrity Over Losing Dignity (Sarai)
Integrity
Over Losing Dignity
Many of us value integrity
in ourselves. We also look for it consistently in our leaders or anyone around
us. Integrity is important because it keeps you from never having to spend time
or energy questing our selves. When we listen to our heart and do the right
thing, life becomes simple. Having Integrity means gaining trust of our leaders
and those around you. In other words you are dependable. Having trust takes you
places. Also when you hold yourself accountable for your action you become a
role model for others to follow. This is what John Proctor did, he choose
Integrity over losing his dignity. He did not want his name to be hanged up for
public eyes to see, knowing he was innocent.
Losing your dignity will
bring some hard consequences. Your name can be stepped on, cursed and hated.
When your name is mentioned it can be like say the word devil to some people or
like an annoying noise they can’t stand hearing. It can cause you to go crazy
and every want suicide because of so many insults. John did not want this and
besides he wanted his son to know him as a good man. John knew that if he told
the truth he would have to hang. He preferred this over letting people stare at
him and judge him strongly. In his heart he must of felt that to die this way
was the best choice out of the two choices he had.

integrity or Faith (AJ)
Integrity
means being and honest man or woman, in other words having honor. But I think I
would live instead of dying in reality I don’t think no one would choose to die
just because of what somebody thinks about them. I wouldn’t because you always
can be forgiven for the crime you have done. Even though it is good to have
dignity, when you die people are going to respect you and when you are alive
people are going to respect you, and honestly some people will not have a choice
because you can have power over someone even if you are their principal, boss
on a job or anything where you can control what they say and do to you. I
wouldn’t know which one to pick, I don’t understand why you cant just have both
honor and integrity. But you always have good character and as long as you have
good character which means you should be honest, and etc. according to Thomas
Paine “Character is much easier kept than
recovered. (Paine)
But at the end of the day I would rather live than die so I
could care less what people think about me.
