Timeliness (Jamilex)

I feel that Capotes book still has a timelines to it because it portrays people who act and think like people would today. People are still fascinated by crime and criminals. The tabloids at any store carry sensational articles about celebrities and horrible crimes. “In Cold Blood” is a book that is still famous because it tells an interesting story. Does the book possess an timeliness or dated? I think it does for another its dated because the way the criminals planed it up and how they knew what to do next. Then in the book it says the date when was it and when it happened and what did the criminals do. Then I think its timeliness too because the life time of the murders I think they thought about killing someone back when they were young. I think they were knowing what were they going to do like if the criminals were alive today they would be doing the same thing killing somebody. Then I look at like this way if they have killed someone of today I don’t think there plan would turn out the same. I say that because I mean that house was alone and now day houses are together and if there is a shooting the neighbors will know. 

Death Penalty (Jamilex)

Does the death penalty help prevent crime in our country? Death penalty doesn’t stop preventing crimes from happening. There is still going to be crimes happening in my country either way. I say either way criminals will not stop doing crimes because they are still doing them. They will never learn to stop and how if they want to do crime they will do it.  Should families of crime victims be allowed to administer the death penalty? I don’t think that the families should be the ones to administer the death penalty. How about is someone you love family member and your pulling the switch. I think that if someone is convicted of murder and sentenced to death that a professional who has been trained properly should be the one who to pull the switch. I know that families might be very happy to get revenge but I think that they should leave that to the authorities or someone at least. Its like if they want to kill like that person who murdered his family member and they want to pull the switch then their doing the same thing the guy did its like their doing the same thing that the killer did. I think that death penalty is not going to do nothing good at all and its not going to solve problems at all. 

Honor (Jamilex)

I really think that it is better to die and keep your honor and dignity. Some values are worth dying for. John proctor refused to sign a false confession and was therefore hanged for it. I think that he did the right thing but it would be hard. Everyone wants to be alive. Many people would say or do anything to stay alive like Abigail. I hope that I would be strong enough to do the right thing like John Proctor. Sometimes people lie for no good reason except to hurt someone. John Proctor refused to lie for a very good reason to save his life. I think he should be admired. I think if I was in that problem then I would do the same thing what John Proctor did. But then it would be so sad if I would not see my children again and I would think what would happen to them without me what would they think. But I would die because what I believe in and do the same. Then again its hard because you have two kids and a baby and a wife its hard to choose. I believe that it’s a very hard decision to make. I think that if I had the same problem as John Proctor that I would do the same thing as he did. Even if I left my kids and my husband because that would be my own decision to be making. That’s what I would be doing.

Hysteria (Jamilex)

I believe that some gun owners are becoming too emotional about government efforts to keep so many guns off the street. After the shootings at the school in Connecticut, many people including the president called for some kind of gun control. I think that there is too much violence and that it is too easy for people to get guns. Just recently, several young children from around here have been shot accidentally because they found guns lying around at home. We need to make it harder for people to get guns, but the guns owners are being unreasonable about any changes. I think that they are being a little hysterical about this issue. Commonsense should tell us that we do not need assault weapons in our homes. Theirs a lot of people that do a lot of shooting and they should give permission on shooting. There is some people that are so crazy enough to kill little children and cops like there is a lot of issues about this. I think they should take more care about who you giving the gun to but eventually their going to find a gun or get a gun from someone. This is my opinion of this and of  course some people do let hysteria take over like what I said in here. 

Reputation (Jamilex)

I think that a reputation is still very important in our society, especially if it is a bad one. People talk all the time and sometimes they say mean things that aren’t true. This can really hurt an innocent person. Most people do care about what other people think of them even if they say they don’t care. Words can hurt especially rumors about who likes who. Sometimes people just spread ugly rumors to be mean. This can be a form of bulling in todays society especially with social media and technology. Ugly rumors get on the internet and go around the world. Some people laugh and think its funny but other people can get hurt. I think people should not say bad things about others. The majority of people care about what people think about them. I don’t care what people say about me because of all I’m being myself. Then again some people seem to not be there self’s anymore but a different personality. Then another thing is if your applying for a job that you really want and your chance of getting picked aren’t really great because some person spreads rumors that might be true or not. That’s why is good to have a good reputation.
