Suspense (Meiko)

I feel like Capote built suspense throughout the book by making you guess what’s going to happen next. When you have the reader thinking what’s next, it also gives them a better understanding of the book & makes the book a little more interesting. In Cold Blood is a good book in my opinion also because Truman Capote knew how to make the book with more suspense. He still has me wondering what is going to happen next. We all know that the Clutter’s were killed but we don’t exactly know all of the details in the story yet. He builds suspense in the book by adding all types of clues, factual information, & things that make you think or ask yourself questions. He also did a good job with this book because it gives you the smallest things, from detail to detail. Truman Capote put a lot of thought into this book because I feel like that’s how you gain a lot of readers & viewers by making the book more interesting. Truman Capote is a great author on so many different levels. The reason being is because he can also break everything up into bits & pieces to actually make us feel like we were there when it happened & The Clutter’s got murdered.

End of the World (Meiko)

I do NOT believe that the world is going to end in December of 2012. The reason being is because it’s not up to anybody in this world as to when GOD comes back & take us home, it’s all up to GOD as to what he’s going to do. I also believe that the world isn’t going to end in December of 2012 because I still have a whole life to live. I have to graduate high school, graduate college, become successful, get married, have children & go to my prom. It’s up to GOD as to when he’s going to come. If it does happened though, I would understand because he’s not doing anything but giving us justice. This world that we live in today is so cruel & you wouldn’t know if your going to get killed tomorrow. It’s a set date when your first born as to when GOD is going to call you home. I would just give advice to anybody who takes it; live everyday like it’s your last, live in the word of GOD & don’t live in FEAR. When you live in fear, you don’t get very far & when you live trying to please PEOPLE, you die trying to please GOD. The world is going to go on as long as GOD has destined it to be, but people have to remember that’s it’s about  when GOD wants it & NOT when they want it.

Pleading Guilty (Meiko)

When a lot of people confess to doing witchcraft, the only person that possessed them to confess was himself or herself. Sometimes, people can have a guilty conscious & they feel bad about whatever they’ve done so they tell on themselves.  I feel like it is worth admitting guilt to save ourselves because GOD gave us life. It’s a precious thing & us just giving up & not caring if we’re hung or if we want to live is just foolish to me because we we’re all put here for a purpose & it wasn’t just to take us right back off of earth.  I would NEVER accuse someone to save myself because  that’s just selfish & I would NEVER want anyone to do that to me.  I feel like people being scared drove them to confess. They probably felt like if they didn’t confess, they would have got killed/ hung anyway.  A lot of people stood up to say they we’re innocent because they have things to live for, like a FAMILY!  Some people in this world just has confidence in knowing that they didn’t do something so they’re going to stand up for whatever they feel is right. If they didn’t do anything, it’s no reason for them to be convicted of it. Reputation was a very big thing back, & it is now.  Almost all of Salem Town we’re Christians. Nobody wanted to be killed with the reputation of doing witchcraft because they we’re going to be talked about & their family was going to be disrespected.  Honor & respect is very important to me because if nobody respects you, your going to fill like your nothing really. (that’s just my personal opinion)  I would have been kind of angry in their shoes because I just did it so that I could live & your going to judge me.
